Carla Rae

Carla Rea's motto is: Be your own style. And she applies this motto to her own style as well as the desires and needs of her clients.  Though originally from the North Carolina Sandhills, Carla has worked in Raleigh for 16 years, as a stylist, colorist, gallery owner and curator.  She also founded an Aveda Concept Salon, Cherrybomb.  In everything she does, Carla draws special inspiration from her personal heroes, like her teachers, Anna Karsis and David Adams, true masters of color and design whose philosophy about incorporating style and beauty into everyday life have influenced and helped reshape both the fashion industry and the star-maker machinery as well as Carla's own views. If it is true that you know someone by understanding who they admire, you should know that Carla's life has been changed by the work of Gloria Steinem, Diane Arbus, John Lennon, Bjork, Patti Smith, Pam Grier (aka Foxy Brown), Marlene Dietrich and Madeline Kahn. Carla thinks talent begins with the artist, and she is inspired by educational programs and aspires to never stop learning.
